AIIMS will be operational at Awantipora, Pulwama, Kashmir from this Year

The institute will add 1000 beds to its current capacity in Kashmir, including 300 super-specialty beds. The ambitious project also includes a Medical College with a capacity of 100 students and a Nursing College with a capacity of 60 students.

Till 2014, there were only three medical colleges in J&K ,but with Prime Minister Narendera Modi Ji’s interest, seven new medical colleges were sanctioned. The AIIMS in Jammu is fully functional and the one coming up at Awantipora will be made functional this year.

For almost 67 years, people of J&K faced persistent neglect of healthcare. There was no government health insurance scheme. Prime Minister established a resilient health system and provided health assurance to all.

A more happier and productive society is our prime objective. Modiji believes public health is fundamental to stable socio-economic growth. Prudent policy followed by robust implementation helped us to fill gaps in health care capacities and eradicate inequality between rich and poor.
